Kernel problem ACPI: IRQ10 SCI: Edge set to level trigger

guys I have aproblem with 2.6 kernel..
when i try and upgrade to it and reboot..
it gets to
ACPI: IRQ10 SCI: Edge set to level trigger
then just freezes and locks
any ideas?

tech__, try acpi=off as a boot argument, or turn off ACPI in the bios
k
no ACPI options in the bios.
i cna but to 2.4 no problem too..
where can i make the change then make it perm
I gave 2 options there
yeah i know just saying at the line
drop to cmd
?
i used grubb
i modified the line to say acpi=off
but i got the same error.. did it now save
lemme try that again
why would it work under 2.4 and not 2.6 though?
well is acpi enabled in your 2.4?
yes
when inside i rgub i am doing e to edit list.. adding acpi=off to the end of the first line then hitting b to boot that form the list but it is still giving the same exact error

nice
think i fixed it
