Hi I have a small problem with a script which I dont know how to solve My code dynamicaly generates a onclick

TimRainey, where are you declaring xmlhttp?

looking that up it says that happens when you reference an object that doesn't exist

paste it

http://app.mclarengrading.com/includes/js/functions.js

Is there any possible way to improve rendering time? Like… preventing re-rendering other layers or something?

however my objects match up
that was it

the code
paste the code

http://pastebin.ca/616995

The paste 616995 has been copied to: http://erxz.com/pb/3559

your code hasn't changed

make the init function return the object created

ooh wups
heeh old pastebin

then use it like var xmlhttp = XMLInitRequest();

http://pastebin.ca/617013

The paste 617013 has been copied to http://erxz.com/pb/3560

TimRainey, i wouldn't use globals if you can help it. why not make XMLHttpRequestInit return the object
like bpalmer just said

you might want to actually make it function(){return
wouldmake more sense

http://pastebin.ca/617015

The paste 617015 has been copied to http://erxz.com/pb/3561

I have to admit I find myself confused…

just use my code

ahh /me tests

TimRainey, better yet, i would recommend choosing a javascript framework and not trying to reinvent the wheel. it's a bitch making cross-browser compatible code. let the framework developers worry about those things.
I'm partial to jquery

listen to peepsalot
they may require a lot more work on the front end
but they save you work in other places

then call refreshListeners() after onstatereadychange is done with state 4
so you don't deal with a congested request object
(this is a workaround for an unclean design, though)

you are my hero

ya, I get that a lot

hahaha such a modest one
hmm crap still breaks in IE
I'm downgrading to you 'worthwhile fella'

I get that a lot as well :-\

well so the core problem is I have a button in a div that 'onclick' does a .innerHtml replace on the div containing the button you clicked
before I had img …….onclick=……….
someone in #prototype suggested use of EventListener to get around that and to put the event outside the replaced content
still same problem in IE

Hello all, is there anyway to use that printers for tickets without need a confirmation? my problem is: I'm developinbg a wab based system, when a client pays for the service it should receive a ticket that needs to be printed by that small prints (that uses rolled papers.. don't know the
name in english)

whan I use the window.print it opens that dialog asking a the configuration and confirmation

Judge–: Can't do.
As it would be a security risk.

Judge–: I don't know for sure but I'd doubt it, seems like a serious security issue if people could williy nilly print stuff out on your printers just by viewing their pages

Judge–: afaik that's by design, just like it's be design that you cant interact with the file system w/o the file dialog

Judge–: the internet would be horrific if any page could do that

vollmer yes, but this is a system

then write a full application, not a webpage

Judge–: doesnt matter, it's the browser

peepsalot have anytime to give me a minicrashcorse in this jquery thing? I am in a bit of a time crunch to get this project done

hum
may be If I got an activex for IE?
what about?
it'd work just for my customer

Judge–: quite possible

Judge–: as Jan`, she's into this kind of insanity
*ask

lol
Jan` there?
insin I thought on using C#, so I could develop the web interface and the desktop application
but i'd need to learn C# haahah
=]
Well.. it could be Java so

or, indeed, anything else

ok, gotta think about what to do
tks

Judge–: what is it you want/need to do?

if (foo) { … } — if foo is an integer, will it be true for all values?

no, not 0

Thanks

pls wait until I translate
hehe

from?

rent.. thats the word
I'm developing a system to controll a house where rent DVDs

Judge–: http://www.jguru.com/faq/view.jsp?EID=764245

Judge–: and you want it to be a web-app?

yes, so customers can go to the website and rent online
pay with paypal or something like this

and? but?

and our delivery will delivery the dvd at the customer's house

Judge–: so you work for netflix?
great, maybe you can tell them to lose their stupid popups

netflix?
what is?

Judge–: you just described netflix

DDustin I'm from Brazil, never heard about it
but it's nice to see the Idea I had now is already used
it probably means it works
insin thanks

netflix is driving blockbuster and hollywood to bankrupcy
bankruptcy

well heard about blockbyster… but never used their services

blockbuster recently came out with a competitive server to netflix

how does it works?

same as netflix, except you can trade in at the store
instead of just mailing
Judge–: http://news.google.com/news/url?sa=t&ct=us/0-0&fp=46967a60a1a95aaa&ei=_8GWRvmNApbSpgKN3eV_&url=http%3A//www.courierpostonline.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article%3FAID%3D/20070705/IMPULSE06/707050372/1003/BUSINESS&cid=0

yes, in our idea too

Judge–: netflix sued the hell out of blockbuster

you can rent it via web or in our store

apparently they settled

or there were other services similar

http://www.hackingnetflix.com/2005/06/international_d.html
looks like canda, america, and the UK
probably some smaller ones in other countries

great
I guess that work

heh, you must not follow the business world much
I always forget not everybody follows it

insin see that page you sent me? here for me it asks confirmation

any one familiar with woostas jif framework?

Where I come from, jif is for cleaning your bathroom.

well where I come from its a type of peanut butter
but for this application it is somethign Woosta wrote that stands for (Javascript Interaction Framework)
lol
I need to pass multiple variables to a php script such as: name, number, and fieldname, I am not sure how to format that using your system
I am having to re-write mass ammounts of code cause the last frame work I was using stinks outloud so porting all to your JIF
