ImageMagick® is a software that provides creating, editing and composing bitmap images.

It can read, convert and write images in a variety of (about 100) formats including DPX, GIF, JPEG, JPEG-2000, PDF, PhotoCD, PNG, Postscript, SVG, and TIFF.

Therefore the ImageMagic software offers not just showing the images but also manipulating them as well which provides better services related to the images then the GD libraries does.

ImageMagick is free software delivered through the ready-to-run binaries or as source code that can be freely used, copied , modified and distributed.

All major operating systems supports the ImageMagic implementation.

The service is also available as an PHP additional module and it becomes a native php-extension. The latest installation source can be found at:
